Bording passes arived
The kids recieved a special package in the mail today from the north pole- inside were three golden bording passed for the North pole express! You should have seen the magic in thier eyes! I'm so excited for them- Here is a litle about what I'm talking about- "Cousins Subs will randomly choose forty and those kids plus one guardian will win a seat on a special Amtrak-powered train that departs Milwaukee on Saturday, Dec. 15. The train takes kids on a short journey to the beautiful Milwaukee Airport Amtrak station, which is transformed with the help of hundreds of volunteers, world-class decorations and real reindeer. The space is also being outfitted with a giant toy shop that will be filled with games, crafts and entertainment for kids. In just a couple short hours, kids will travel to the North Pole and back but will have memories to last a lifetime. “ holidays,” says Cousins Subs Vice President of Marketing Larry Weissman. “And being able to support Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, an organization that makes miracles happen for kids year round, makes it that much more special.” Every detail of the trip will resonate with holiday magic: golden boarding tickets punched by a conductor; a special elf that whisks the train thousands of miles in minutes; jingle bells that bring Santa from his workshop during his busiest time of year; dozens of elves running about with armfuls of toys and games; reindeer getting their coats brushed and ready for flight; the sound of carols, and fresh baked holiday cookies are only some of the details that will make this experience memorable." Would't you be excited too?
Best news ever!
Our holiday season has started off with the best news ever-1st of all we have reached and exceeded our COTA fundraising goal. I want to thank each and every person that has helped or donated or both. Jay and I are so grateful to you all.
2nd news…drum roll…….we have a confirmed match for Mira!
A friend named Kelly has completed all of donor work up and she is a match! She came over and gave the news to Mira and us a few nights ago- There are no words that can ever say Thank You enough for a miracle gift such as this- It is hard for me to even type the words with out tearing up.
This news is very relieving and at the same time emotionally strange. On one hand you’re so grateful, and then on the other you’re scared to take it to the next level. Not to mention that now you have your daughter and a friend going under the knife at the same time- I don’t know if that makes sense, it’s hard to explain.
I know we all see Mira as a happy little girl, and she is happy. I try not to dwell on her illness- Jay and I try not to complain about all the things that are involved with her being on dialysis every night- How can we complain? Without dialysis chances are she wouldn’t be with us. But to dream of all the simple things a person takes for granted like bathing normal, being able to wake up and just hop out of bed with out waiting for me to get sterile , swimming, sleepovers, being able to roll over with out alarms going off because she kinked a line, having a bedroom that doesn’t look like a makeshift IUC …… Thank You Kelly- we Love You!
I'm not so good at posting, am I?
So Much to say and never enough time – The kids turned 3 on Oct. 29th- We had a party at home with family and the kids were over excited with all the hype- and then add trick-or-treating in 2 days latter and whew! Three Over excited toddlers= 1 very wore out mom! I have officially learned my lesson and will not hype events up and build them up in there minds before hand- they still aren’t back to normal. This was the 1st year that we took them trick-or- treating. (Our neighbor hood does it at dark on Halloween.) Mira was a ladybug, Luke was a spider and Vincent dressed like Tiger. They knew exactly what to do and say. We only took them around our block and then returned back to hand out treats- which was equally fun for them. Fast forward to this week- Mira has hit 19lbs a few times in the morning. We weigh her each morning and every night. The reality of her getting transplanted is starting to become closer. On top of the good news with her weight Make-a- Wish is granting a wish to Mira! Were Going to Disney! YEAH!!!! I’m so excited, but like I said about hyping things up before hand I’m having a hard time with this secret.
